Dr. Karthikeyan Swaminath brings a passion for family medicine, women’s health and obstetrics to the Barstow community. He is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care for patients of all ages and building lasting relationships with individuals and families.

For Dr. Swaminath, the decision to pursue medicine grew from a love of science, problem-solving and, most importantly, helping people. Family medicine was a natural fit because it allows him to care for patients throughout every stage of life—from children and adults to women during pregnancy and new mothers and their babies.

Obstetrics has been a particular passion throughout his medical career. Inspired early in life by his grandmother’s perspective that pregnancy represents the future and the next generation, Dr. Swaminath developed a lasting interest in caring for women throughout pregnancy and childbirth. His additional training in family medicine obstetrics includes experience caring for routine and higher-risk pregnancies, performing Cesarean sections, operative vaginal deliveries and external cephalic versions, as well as providing prenatal and postpartum care.

His practice offers comprehensive family medicine with a strong focus on women’s health and obstetrics, including gynecologic care, preventive services, pediatric and adult medicine, and a variety of in-office procedures.
